The Call

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry

I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before

All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good bye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes

You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye

You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good bye.

Yeah, so watched Prince Caspian last night....

Juuret

Pitkä hiekkatie
Sitä pitkin kioskille
Aina pyöräilimme rinnakkain
Kun muutin kaupunkiin, posti kirjeitäsi kantoi
Ne meidän ystävyyttä vannoi viikoittain
Sä olit oikeessa, vielä juurillensa palaa vahvinkin

Me istutettiin yhdessä puu

Me istutettiin yhdessä puu

Me istutettiin yhdessä puu
Sen oksille linnut laskeutuu
Mun juuret, ne ovat täällä maassa syvällä
Me istutettiin yhdessä puu
Sen oksille linnut laskeutuu
Mun juuret, ne ovat täällä maassa syvällä
Ja siitä taimesta kasvoi puu
Se maailman tuulissa vahvistuu
Puun juuret, ne ovat täällä maassa syvällä

Joo. This got me good over the weekend. *sigh*

Sons of Anarchy

OMG.

Season 1 ended last night. Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyyy goddd!!!!

I'll try to make justice to it..

Right.

So. What happened previously was that the ATF investigated SOA. There was this mad guy who was stalking Tara - she calls Jax and he kills the guy.

But the other ATF agent (this superbly bitchy woman, played by Ally Walker) is determined to bust the club.

Opie is keen to get back in to the club, although his wife Donna is opposed to this. So, Opie and Bobby are sent to get rid of a federal judge - Jax being the lookout. The hit goes wrong, with a girl seeing the shoot through her window and identifying Bobby and Opie.

Sooo. Bobby and Opie are arrested, Opie is later set free - but not before the ATF have framed him for an informer! Clay thinks that Opie has turned on the club, and decides to make arrangements to get rid of him and blame it on one of the other gangs.

They plan this for the night of Jax's son's homecoming party, but it all goes dreadfully wrong and Donna ends up dead instead.

So - the finale starts with Opie going mad with grief over Donna. He does not know that Clay ordered the hit, only people who know for sure are the Chief Police and his Deputy - and of course Clay and Tigg (who did the  dirty work).

Jax suspects that Donna died because of something to do with Clay, though does not suspect that he directly ordered the hit.

Piney (Opie's dad) goes off to the Niners (the gang Clay is blaming for the hit) to settle the score. Jax intervenes, and they find out that Niners had nothing to do with it. Jax starts to suspect an internal job....

So, he goes off to talk to the Chief, and Kyle (the deputy) tells him that he suspects Clay ordered the hit. Jax confronts Clay who denies everything.

Jax does not believe it and goes off to think about things.

The episode ends in Donna's funeral, where Jax openly spurns Clay and Gemma and goes off to grieve at his father's grave. Piney finds him there and gives him a copy of his dad's diary - Jax was unaware that anyone else knew about it -- let alone had a copy. Piney tells him 'it's time for a change'....

Oooohhh.h....

I cant wait for s2 - it will air first week of September.

eek.

*sigh*

Well, decided to give it another go.

It's just so insanely busy at work these days, combined with the boss' insistence that no 'fun' internet (read NOTHING) is allowed during working hours... and then when I get home I simply dont have the time or the energy to write any more. Oh well. Let's see if I can keep up this time.

SO, sophi_e and iinu have gone back home. It feels so very empty in the house now, I got used to having teenagers lounging around. Even the hubby said he got to play parent for a month and enjoyed it! I hope they really do come back next summer, and after that - who knows. But sophi_e bought wayyy too much stuff, so she had to leave like 7 pairs of shoes and various clothes and souvenirs round my house! At least i have a valid excuse to keep her coming back if I conveniently forget to bring everything... :D

Looking for a new job now, getting tired of this place. Well, that may be not right. Not so much tired of the place as the job itself. I am tired of working 9 hours a day for not a lot of money and not actually achieving much. What makes it worse is that the person who does mostly the same thing I do, but for the private sector is getting a lot more money. For example, we are both entitled to 1% of departmental sales, he private and I public sector. But when the private sector makes an average of 40K a month and the public sector 10K...the discrepancy starts to show. And I am tired of never being home before 7.30 in the evening, I am tired of not having much of a social life (well, life of any kind really) because I am always home late and have to be up early the next day again.

oh well. Onto happier things.

Did I tell you I have gotten hooked up on yet another TV show? It's called True Blood and it's (you guessed it) about vampires. It's kinda different, in that the girl is telepathic, can read everyone's mind except the vampire's - who happens to be smooth, good looking and nice! So far there's a lot - a LOT - of sex, quite a bit of gratuituous violence and blood-sucking, which technically can be regarded as sex anyway. So nice. :)

And Sons of Anarchy continues, I think there's another 3 episodes or so to go for this season, I know they are showing s2 in the States now, so hoping we don't have too long to wait. That's really all I ever watch on TV these days, does not seem to be much else decent on.

Started FFX the other night, when I's bf was over, he is apprently a massive fan. I had forgotten how good a game it is, and how much fun it is to play. Racked up about...20 hours of play or so (it don't matter really anyway), just about to finish the Macalania Trials. Then there's a long stretch without Yuna in the desert and then the Calm Lands. That will be fun. Also played a lot of Oblivion over the weekend, am now head of the Thieves' Guild, on my way to the top of the Mages' and started the Assassins' as well. I like that game you know, only thing is it's so bloody addictive!!!!

Guess that's it for now, I promise - promise! to keep at this more frequently.

More Roswell...

You just have to bear with me until I'm finished watching it!

I'm on season 3 now. It's a bit weird, I can see that they are consciously trying to veer the story away from school, but it lacks the same drama as the first two series. There's less Michael & Maria stuff, Max & Liz are just a bit strange, Isabel is almost a different person altogether!
But, the ones I finished this morning seem to get back in the swing of things. Isabel gets married, rejects Kivar's affections and sends him back home alone, she decides not to tell Jesse she's an alien and *shock* Maria breaks up with Michael!!!!!!!
It was cute watching Michael get completely off whack with jealousy over Maria's old flame, Billy. It's heartbreaking when he sees them together at her house and she's singing! The last time she did any music was at Alex's funeral, so this was a big deal.
Then Billy goes away, and he's all happy again, except that she wants to talk. And then she drops the bombshell: 'I wanna break up'. Oh, I nearly cried... She says (and this is where is gets sooo achingly beautiful) 'I want out because I love you so much. I love you more than you will ever know'. And he asks: 'Will you come back to me?', to which Maria says 'I don't know.'
The people who write this stuff are freaking geniuses, talk about leaving the audience hanging!

*Sigh*
I am such a hopeless romantic, this stuff just melts my heart... OK, I know it's only fictional and everything, but still...

    Anberlin (McAlhaney is GOD!)

Acceptance (see above) - I only wish they were still around or at least that someone would play the songs...

30STM - I really really want to see them live, that would so make my day/week/month/entire year probably

Panic at the Disco - hm. Ryan and Spencer have left now, wonder how that will affect things?

Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire - indeed

The Academy is... - Well, William Beckett's hair has a lot to answer for! But I actually heard them before I ever saw a single picture, so there - not so shallow after all, eh?

Cute is what we aim for - one of the most dysfunctional bands going, but the music's good, so who cares?

The Killers - actually, I kinda like the new stuff now. Dustland Fairytale is excellent.

Fall Out Boy - Folie a Deux is very good, I don't know if they will ever top that.

Green Day - what a triumph! The new album is great. Will see them in Oct.

    McFly - a guilty pleasure

    Where to begin?

Currently reading Lord of the Isles 2: Queen of Demons by David Drake. Nice going so far. Update: Finished.

Joined the library by the way, now I have unlimited access again!

My Shannara project - one day I will read all of them

Twilight  - felt the last book was bit of a letdown. Too neat in my opinion, I mean c'mon, if Edward is ready to give Bella up so she does not have to suffer ('I don't care if she has puppies, just not this'!), and then Jacob doesn't get her in the end! Not fair at all.

HP - will probably stay around for a long time

Discworld - I want a new one already!

New author I like: Karen Miller

Wheel of Time - I should read them again, I gave my set away to someone more needy years ago and haven't replaced them - maybe it's time

Isaac Asimov - The Foundation series are the only sci-fi books I have ever enjoyed in my life. I doubt I will even want to read any others, would ruin it somehow I think

Weis & Hickman - Do I need to elaborate? Death Gate Cycle, Dragonlance, Darksword.... everything they touch turns to gold

Found a new author - Scott Lynch. Lies of Locke Lamora was very good indeed, ingenious to write about thieves! Started the second book, not sure where it's going yet..
